Turn your favorite podcast episodes into engaging social media content automatically. This workflow fetches new episodes from an RSS feed, transcribes the audio using OpenAI Whisper, generates a concise summary using GPT-4o, and drafts a tweet. It then sends the draft to Slack for your review before posting it to X (Twitter).

Who is this for

Content creators, social media managers, and podcast enthusiasts who want to share insights without manually listening to and typing out every episode.

Key Features

  • Large File Support: Includes a custom logic to download audio in chunks, ensuring stability even with long episodes (preventing timeouts).
  • Human-in-the-Loop: Nothing gets posted without your approval. You can review the AI-generated draft in Slack before it goes live.
  • High-Quality AI: Uses OpenAI's Whisper for accurate transcription and GPT-4o for intelligent summarization.

How it works

  1. Monitor: Checks the Podcast RSS feed daily for new episodes.
  2. Process: Downloads the audio (handling large files via chunking) and transcribes it.
  3. Draft: AI summarizes the transcript into bullet points and formats it for X (Twitter).
  4. Approve: Sends the draft to a Slack channel.
  5. Publish: Once approved by you, it posts the tweet to your X account.

Requirements

  • OpenAI API Key
  • Slack Account & App (Bot Token)
  • X (Twitter) Developer Account (OAuth2)

Setup instructions

  1. RSS Feed: The template defaults to "TED Talks Daily" for demonstration. Open the [Step 1] RSS node and replace the URL with your target podcast.
  2. Connect Credentials: Set up your credentials for OpenAI, Slack, and X (Twitter) in the respective nodes.
  3. Slack Channel: In the [Step 12] Slack node, select the Channel ID where you want to receive the approval request.

n8n Podcast to X (Twitter) Pipeline with OpenAI Whisper, GPT-4o & Slack Approval

This n8n workflow automates the process of transcribing new podcast episodes, generating a summary and a tweet, and then publishing the tweet to X (formerly Twitter) after a Slack approval.

What it does

This workflow streamlines your content promotion by:

  1. Monitors an RSS Feed: It periodically checks a specified RSS feed for new podcast episodes.
  2. Fetches Podcast Audio: When a new episode is found, it downloads the audio file.
  3. Transcribes Audio with OpenAI Whisper: The audio file is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription.
  4. Generates Summary and Tweet with OpenAI GPT-4o: The transcription is then passed to OpenAI's GPT-4o model to create a concise summary and a compelling tweet.
  5. Seeks Slack Approval: Before publishing, the generated tweet and summary are sent to a designated Slack channel for human review and approval.
  6. Publishes to X (Twitter): Upon approval in Slack, the tweet is automatically posted to your X (Twitter) account.

Prerequisites/Requirements

To use this workflow, you will need:

  • n8n Instance: A running n8n instance.
  • OpenAI API Key: An API key for OpenAI, with access to Whisper and GPT-4o models.
  • Slack Account: A Slack workspace and a channel where approval messages will be sent.
  • X (Twitter) Account: An X (Twitter) developer account with API access to post tweets.
  • Podcast RSS Feed URL: The URL of the RSS feed for your podcast.

  3. Configure Nodes:
    • RSS Read Node (ID: 37): Enter the URL of your podcast's RSS feed.
    • HTTP Request Node (ID: 19): This node is responsible for downloading the audio file. Ensure its configuration correctly extracts the audio URL from the RSS feed item.
    • OpenAI Node (ID: 1250):
      • Set the "Operation" to "Transcribe Audio" for the first OpenAI node (Whisper).
      • Set the "Operation" to "Chat" for the second OpenAI node (GPT-4o) and configure the prompt to generate a summary and tweet from the transcription.
    • Slack Node (ID: 40):
      • Specify the Slack channel where approval messages should be sent.
      • Customize the message template to include the generated summary and tweet.
    • X (Twitter) Node (ID: 325): Configure the tweet content to use the approved tweet text from Slack.
    • Schedule Trigger Node (ID: 839): Adjust the schedule to your desired frequency for checking the RSS feed (e.g., every hour, daily).
  4. Activate the Workflow: Once all credentials and nodes are configured, activate the workflow.

The workflow will now automatically monitor your podcast feed, process new episodes, and await your approval in Slack before posting to X.

πŸŽ“ How to transform unstructured email data into structured format with AI agent

This workflow automates the process of extracting structured, usable information from unstructured email messages across multiple platforms. It connects directly to Gmail, Outlook, and IMAP accounts, retrieves incoming emails, and sends their content to an AI-powered parsing agent built on OpenAI GPT models. The AI agent analyzes each email, identifies relevant details, and returns a clean JSON structure containing key fields: From – sender’s email address To – recipient’s email address Subject – email subject line Summary – short AI-generated summary of the email body The extracted information is then automatically inserted into an n8n Data Table, creating a structured database of email metadata and summaries ready for indexing, reporting, or integration with other tools. --- Key Benefits βœ… Full Automation: Eliminates manual reading and data entry from incoming emails. βœ… Multi-Source Integration: Handles data from different email providers seamlessly. βœ… AI-Driven Accuracy: Uses advanced language models to interpret complex or unformatted content. βœ… Structured Storage: Creates a standardized, query-ready dataset from previously unstructured text. βœ… Time Efficiency: Processes emails in real time, improving productivity and response speed. *βœ… Scalability: Easily extendable to handle additional sources or extract more data fields. --- How it works This workflow automates the transformation of unstructured email data into a structured, queryable format. It operates through a series of connected steps: Email Triggering: The workflow is initiated by one of three different email triggers (Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, or a generic IMAP account), which constantly monitor for new incoming emails. AI-Powered Parsing & Structuring: When a new email is detected, its raw, unstructured content is passed to a central "Parsing Agent." This agent uses a specified OpenAI language model to intelligently analyze the email text. Data Extraction & Standardization: Following a predefined system prompt, the AI agent extracts key information from the email, such as the sender, recipient, subject, and a generated summary. It then forces the output into a strict JSON structure using a "Structured Output Parser" node, ensuring data consistency. Data Storage: Finally, the clean, structured data (the from, to, subject, and summarize fields) is inserted as a new row into a specified n8n Data Table, creating a searchable and reportable database of email information. --- Set up steps To implement this workflow, follow these configuration steps: Prepare the Data Table: Create a new Data Table within n8n. Define the columns with the following names and string type: From, To, Subject, and Summary. Configure Email Credentials: Set up the credential connections for the email services you wish to use (Gmail OAuth2, Microsoft Outlook OAuth2, and/or IMAP). Ensure the accounts have the necessary permissions to read emails. Configure AI Model Credentials: Set up the OpenAI API credential with a valid API key. The workflow is configured to use the model, but this can be changed in the respective nodes if needed. Connect the Nodes: The workflow canvas is already correctly wired. Visually confirm that the email triggers are connected to the "Parsing Agent," which is connected to the "Insert row" (Data Table) node. Also, ensure the "OpenAI Chat Model" and "Structured Output Parser" are connected to the "Parsing Agent" as its AI model and output parser, respectively. Activate the Workflow: Save the workflow and toggle the "Active" switch to ON. The triggers will begin polling for new emails according to their schedule (e.g., every minute), and the automation will start processing incoming messages. --- Need help customizing?
