Cryptocurrency dip alerts for Bitcoin & Ethereum via Telegram, Slack & SMS
π Buy the Dip Alert (Telegram/Slack/SMS)
π Overview
This workflow automatically notifies you when Bitcoin or Ethereum drops more than a set percentage in the last 24 hours. Itβs ideal for traders who want to stay ready for buy-the-dip opportunities without constantly refreshing charts.
βοΈ How it works
- Schedule Trigger β runs every 30 minutes (adjustable).
- HTTP Request (CoinGecko) β fetches BTC & ETH prices and 24h % change.
- Code Node (βDip Checkβ) β compares changes against your dip threshold.
- IF Node β continues only if dip condition is true.
- Notification Node β sends alert via Telegram, Slack, or SMS (Twilio).
Example Output:
Dip Alert β BTC β3.2%, ETH β2.8%
Not financial advice.
π Setup Guide
1) Dip threshold
- Open the Code node.
- Change the line:
const DIP = -2.5; // trigger if 24h drop <= -2.5%
Set your preferred dip value (e.g., β5 for a 5% drop). 2) Choose your alert channel Telegram: add your bot token & chat ID. Slack: connect Slack API & set channel name. Twilio: configure SID, token, from/to numbers. 3) Test Temporarily set DIP to 0 to force an alert. Run once from the Code node β confirm alert message text. Execute the Notification node β confirm delivery to your channel. π Customization Cadence: change Schedule Trigger (every 5m, 15m, hourly, etc.). Coins: extend the CoinGecko call (add solana, bnb) and update Code node logic. Multiple alerts: duplicate IF β Notification branch for different thresholds (minor vs major dip). Combine with βThreshold Alertsβ workflow to cover both upside breakouts and downside dips. Storage: log alerts into Google Sheets for tracking dip history. 𧩠Troubleshooting No alerts firing: check CoinGecko API response in Execution Data. Wrong %: CoinGecko returns usd_24h_change directly β no math needed. Duplicate alerts: add a debounce using a Sheet/DB to store last fired time. Telegram not posting: confirm bot has access to your channel/group.
Cryptocurrency Dip Alerts for Bitcoin & Ethereum via Telegram, Slack & SMS
This n8n workflow monitors the price of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) against a predefined threshold and sends alerts via Telegram, Slack, or SMS (Twilio) when a significant price dip is detected. This helps you stay informed about market movements without constant manual checking.
What it does
- Schedules Checks: The workflow runs on a predefined schedule (e.g., every 5 minutes).
- Fetches Cryptocurrency Prices: It makes an API request to a cryptocurrency exchange to get the current prices of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
- Calculates Price Change: It uses a Code node to calculate the percentage price change for both BTC and ETH compared to a previously stored reference price.
- Checks for Dips: An If node checks if either BTC or ETH has dropped by a specified percentage (e.g., 5%).
- Sends Alerts: If a dip is detected, it sends a customizable alert message to your chosen communication channels:
- Telegram: Sends a message to a specified Telegram chat.
- Slack: Posts a message to a designated Slack channel.
- Twilio (SMS): Sends an SMS message to a configured phone number.
- Updates Reference Price: After each check, the workflow updates the stored reference price for the next comparison.
Prerequisites/Requirements
- n8n Instance: A running n8n instance.
- Cryptocurrency Exchange API: Access to a cryptocurrency exchange API (e.g., CoinGecko, Binance, Coinbase) to fetch price data. The current workflow uses a generic HTTP Request, so you'll need to configure the specific API endpoint.
- Telegram Account & Bot: If using Telegram, you'll need a Telegram Bot token and the chat ID where you want to receive alerts.
- Slack Account: If using Slack, you'll need a Slack workspace and a way to send messages (e.g., a Slack App with incoming webhooks or a bot token).
- Twilio Account: If using Twilio for SMS, you'll need a Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and a Twilio phone number.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file.
- In your n8n instance, go to "Workflows" and click "New".
- Click the "Import from JSON" button and paste the workflow JSON or upload the file.
- Configure Credentials:
- Telegram: Create a Telegram credential and enter your Bot Token.
- Slack: Create a Slack credential (e.g., OAuth2 or Access Token) and configure it for your workspace.
- Twilio: Create a Twilio credential and enter your Account SID and Auth Token.
- Customize Nodes:
- Schedule Trigger (Node 839): Adjust the interval at which the workflow runs (e.g., every 5 minutes, every hour).
- HTTP Request (Node 19):
- Update the URL to your chosen cryptocurrency API endpoint (e.g.,
https://api.coingecko.com/api/v3/simple/price?ids=bitcoin,ethereum&vs_currencies=usd). - Configure any necessary authentication headers or query parameters for your API.
- Update the URL to your chosen cryptocurrency API endpoint (e.g.,
- Code (Node 834): This node contains the logic for calculating price changes and determining dips. You'll need to adjust the
dipThresholdvariable (e.g.,-0.05for a 5% dip) and potentially the logic for extracting prices from your API response. This node also handles storing and retrieving thelastPrice(you might need to implement a persistent storage solution if you want to maintainlastPriceacross n8n restarts, otherwise it will reset). - If (Node 20): This node checks the
dipDetectedflag from the Code node. No direct changes are usually needed here unless you modify the Code node's output. - Telegram (Node 49):
- Select your Telegram credential.
- Enter the
Chat IDwhere you want to receive messages. - Customize the
Textmessage for the alert.
- Slack (Node 40):
- Select your Slack credential.
- Specify the
Channelwhere the message should be posted. - Customize the
Textmessage for the alert.
- Twilio (Node 45):
- Select your Twilio credential.
- Enter your
From(Twilio) andTo(recipient) phone numbers. - Customize the
Bodyof the SMS message.
- Activate the Workflow: Once configured, activate the workflow to start monitoring cryptocurrency prices.
The "Sticky Note" (Node 565) serves as a general comment area for the workflow.

Two-way property repair management system with Google Sheets & Drive
This workflow automates the repair request process between tenants and building managers, keeping all updates organized in a single spreadsheet. It is composed of two coordinated workflows, as two separate triggers are required β one for new repair submissions and another for repair updates. A Unique Unit ID that corresponds to individual units is attributed to each request, and timestamps are used to coordinate repair updates with specific requests. General use cases include: Property managers who manage multiple buildings or units. Building owners looking to centralize tenant repair communication. Automation builders who want to learn multi-trigger workflow design in n8n. --- βοΈ How It Works Workflow 1 β New Repair Requests Behind the Scenes: A tenant fills out a Google Form (βRepair Request Formβ), which automatically adds a new row to a linked Google Sheet. Steps: Trigger: Google Sheets rowAdded β runs when a new form entry appears. Extract & Format: Collects all relevant form data (address, unit, urgency, contacts). Generate Unit ID: Creates a standardized identifier (e.g., BUILDING-UNIT) for tracking. Email Notification: Sends the building manager a formatted email summarizing the repair details and including a link to a Repair Update Form (which activates Workflow 2). --- Workflow 2 β Repair Updates Behind the Scenes:\ Triggered when the building manager submits a follow-up form (βRepair Update Formβ). Steps: Lookup by UUID: Uses the Unit ID from Workflow 1 to find the existing row in the Google Sheet. Conditional Logic: If photos are uploaded: Saves each image to a Google Drive folder, renames files consistently, and adds URLs to the sheet. If no photos: Skips the upload step and processes textual updates only. Merge & Update: Combines new data with existing repair info in the same spreadsheet row β enabling a full repair history in one place. --- 𧩠Requirements Google Account (for Forms, Sheets, and Drive) Gmail/email node connected for sending notifications n8n credentials configured for Google API access --- β‘ Setup Instructions (see more detail in workflow) Import both workflows into n8n, then copy one into a second workflow. Change manual trigger in workflow 2 to a n8n Form node. Connect Google credentials to all nodes. Update spreadsheet and folder IDs in the corresponding nodes. Customize email text, sender name, and form links for your organization. Test each workflow with a sample repair request and a repair update submission. --- π οΈ Customization Ideas Add Slack or Telegram notifications for urgent repairs. Auto-create folders per building or unit for photo uploads. Generate monthly repair summaries using Google Sheets triggers. Add an AI node to create summaries/extract relevant repair data from repair request that include long submissions.
