How it works / What it does
- Webhook receives a request with use case and video preferences.
- Get Trends XLSX downloads a spreadsheet (created by the Social Media Trends workflow) from SharePoint.
- Select Topic from Trends randomly picks one trending topic from the spreadsheet.
- AI Agent (GPT-4o) generates bilingual newsletter content about the selected trend.
- Get Newsletter Template fetches your HTML template; Build Newsletter injects the AI content.
- Optional creative assets:
• Pollinations AI → generates a 1080 × 1350 image.
• FAL AI → creates video from the image + Lyria2 audio → merged via FFmpeg. - Gmail Approval sends the draft for review; continues only on approval.
- Upload all files (HTML + JPG + video URL) to your chosen storage provider.
How to set up
- Import the template into n8n (cloud or self-hosted).
- Create credentials: OpenAI, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint), Gmail, and FAL AI.
- Upload your HTML newsletter template to SharePoint (see yellow sticky note for required placeholders).
- Ensure you have a trends spreadsheet (from the Social Media Trends workflow) in your SharePoint folder.
- Update Configuration Settings with your
ENV_*variables. - Activate the workflow and POST to the webhook:

- Skip video generation: set
include_video: falsein the webhook request.

What it does
This workflow performs the following key steps:
- Receives a Trigger: It starts by listening for an incoming webhook, which typically provides a trending topic or a prompt for content generation.
- Generates Content with AI: It uses an AI Agent (likely powered by GPT-4o, given the context) to generate SEO-friendly content based on the input.
- Processes and Formats Content: The generated content is then processed and formatted. This includes:
- Extracting relevant data from the AI response.
- Setting specific fields and values for the content (e.g., title, body, keywords).
- Conditional Storage: It intelligently decides where to store the generated content based on a condition:
- SharePoint Storage: If a specific condition is met (e.g., a flag in the webhook payload, or a specific content type), the content is converted into a file and uploaded to Microsoft SharePoint.
- CSV File Storage: If the SharePoint condition is not met, the content is converted into a CSV file and potentially stored locally or sent via email.
- Notifies via Email (Optional): If the content is stored as a CSV, it can optionally be sent as an email attachment using Gmail.
- Waits (Optional): Includes a
Waitstep, which might be used for rate limiting or to introduce a delay between operations. - Responds to Webhook: Finally, it responds to the initial webhook, indicating the completion of the process.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Instance: A running n8n instance.
- Webhook Source: A system or application that can send HTTP POST requests to the n8n webhook URL.
- OpenAI API Key (or compatible LLM): Credentials for an OpenAI Chat Model (or another Large Language Model configured with the AI Agent node), likely GPT-4o given the workflow's purpose.
- Microsoft SharePoint Account: Credentials for Microsoft SharePoint if you intend to use the SharePoint storage option.
- Gmail Account: Credentials for a Gmail account if you intend to use the email notification feature for CSV files.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file.
- In your n8n instance, click "Workflows" in the left sidebar.
- Click "New" -> "Import from JSON" and paste the workflow JSON or upload the file.
- Configure Credentials:
- Locate the "AI Agent" node and ensure your OpenAI (or preferred LLM) credentials are set up.
