Use case
This workflow snoozes any Todoist tasks, by moving them into a Snoozed todoist list and unsnoozes them 3 days before due date. Helps keep inbox clear only of tasks you need to worry about soon.
How to setup
- Add your Todoist creds
- Create a Todoist project called
snoozed - Set the project ids in the relevant nodes
- Add due dates to your tasks in Inbox. Watch them disappear to
snoozed. Set their date to tomorrow, watch it return to inbox.

This n8n workflow automates the process of snoozing Todoist tasks that are due in the future, bringing them to your attention only when they are 3 days away from their due date. This helps in decluttering your Todoist inbox and focusing on tasks that are more immediately relevant.
What it does
This workflow performs the following steps:
- Triggers on a Schedule: The workflow starts on a predefined schedule (e.g., daily).
- Fetches All Active Todoist Tasks: It retrieves a list of all active tasks from your Todoist account.
- Filters for Future Due Dates: It filters these tasks to identify those that have a
due_dateset in the future. - Calculates Remaining Days: For each future-dated task, it calculates the number of days remaining until its due date.
- Filters for Tasks Due in 3 Days: It then filters these tasks further, keeping only those that are due exactly 3 days from the current date.
- Updates Task Due Date (Snooze): For the tasks identified in the previous step, it updates their
due_dateto the current day, effectively "snoozing" them until 3 days before their original due date.
Prerequisites/Requirements
- n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
- Todoist Account: An active Todoist account.
- Todoist API Key/Credentials: You will need to configure Todoist credentials within n8n to allow the workflow to access and modify your tasks.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file for this workflow.
- In your n8n instance, go to "Workflows" and click "New".
- Click the "Import from JSON" button and paste the workflow JSON or upload the file.
- Configure Todoist Credentials:
- Locate the "Todoist" node in the workflow.
- Click on the "Credential" field and select your existing Todoist credential or create a new one. Follow the prompts to connect your Todoist account.
- Activate the Workflow:
- Once the credentials are set, save the workflow.
- Toggle the workflow to "Active" to enable it. It will then run according to its schedule.
- Adjust Schedule (Optional):
- The "Schedule Trigger" node is configured to run at a specific interval. You can modify this schedule to fit your needs (e.g., run hourly, daily at a specific time).
- Review Filters (Optional):
- The "If" and "Filter" nodes are configured to identify tasks due in 3 days. If you wish to change this threshold (e.g., 5 days before due), you will need to adjust the logic within these nodes.
