Description๐Ÿ”

This n8n workflow is a complete marketing automation system that connects to your CDP (Customer Data Platform), selects which flows to send, and delivers personalized emails using Brevo. It's modular and extensible โ€” you can also add SMS, push notifications, Telegram messages, or other channels.

To build a full marketing automation system, you need four key components:

  1. Workflow Automation โ€“ using n8n (this workflow)
  2. CDP โ€“ store and manage user data (e.g., NocoDB, Metabase, Power BI, etc.)
  3. Database โ€“ track transactions, templates, and send statuses (e.g., NocoDB)
  4. BI / Analytics โ€“ monitor performance by flows, journeys, and sent events

This workflow represents the Workflow Automation layer. You can connect it to your own data stack or use the included example databases (cdp-ecrm, n8n-templates-ecrm, and n8n-transaction-ecrm) to get started quickly.

๐Ÿ‘ค Whoโ€™s it for?

  • Growth & CRM teams managing user engagement flows
  • Ecommerce marketers running time-sensitive email journeys
  • Marketing automation pros using low-code CRM stacks
  • Data teams building custom campaign triggers from CDPs

โœ… Features

  • ๐Ÿ” Two modular flows: "Insert user_id" and "Sending Email"
  • ๐Ÿง  Select flow using flow_id from templates in NocoDB
  • โœ๏ธ Insert user data into n8n-transaction-ecrm with processing status
  • ๐Ÿ” Filter duplicate users by user_id to avoid over-sending
  • ๐Ÿ“ง Validate email fields and flag disposables
  • ๐Ÿ“จ Send personalized emails using Brevo template parameters
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Track delivery with sent_result, sent_at, and status updates
  • ๐Ÿ•’ Runs every 30 minutes via schedule trigger

๐Ÿ›  How to Use

  1. Set your flow
In the Setup Flow node, change the flow_id to match a row in your n8n-templates-ecrm table.

  2. Prepare your tables in NocoDB

    • cdp-ecrm: contains users (user_id, email, first_name, phone_number)
    • n8n-templates-ecrm: contains flows with metadata
    • n8n-transaction-ecrm: stores and updates user send status
  3. Configure credentials

    • NocoDB API Token
    • Brevo (Sendinblue) API Key
  4. Trigger the flows

    • Run โ€œInsert user_idโ€ manually or on a schedule to prepare users
    • โ€œSending Emailโ€ runs automatically every 30 minutes

๐Ÿ“Œ Notes

  • Disposable email domains are filtered using regex
  • Status:
    • 0-processing โ†’ just inserted
    • 1-sending โ†’ ready to send
    • 2-sent โ†’ email sent successfully
    • 3-no-email โ†’ missing email address
    • 4-disposal-email โ†’ disposable or banned email
  • Easily duplicate the "Insert user_id" flow to add more campaigns

Automate Email Marketing Campaigns with NocoDB & Brevo

This n8n workflow automates the process of sending targeted email marketing campaigns by syncing data from NocoDB with Brevo (formerly Sendinblue). It efficiently manages contact lists, ensuring that only new and relevant contacts are added to your email campaigns.

What it does

This workflow performs the following key steps:

  1. Schedules Execution: Triggers at regular intervals (e.g., daily, hourly) to check for new data.
  2. Fetches Contacts from NocoDB: Retrieves a list of contacts from a specified table in your NocoDB instance.
  3. Removes Duplicates: Ensures data cleanliness by eliminating any duplicate contacts based on a defined criterion (e.g., email address).
  4. Filters Existing Brevo Contacts: Checks if the fetched contacts already exist in your Brevo account.
  5. Identifies New Contacts: Filters the list to isolate only those contacts that are not yet present in Brevo.
  6. Prepares Contact Data: Formats the new contact information into a structure suitable for Brevo.
  7. Adds New Contacts to Brevo: Creates new contacts in Brevo, adding them to your marketing lists.
  8. Pauses (Optional): Includes a configurable wait step, potentially to rate-limit API calls or allow for data propagation.

Prerequisites/Requirements

To use this workflow, you will need:

  • n8n Instance: A running n8n instance.
  • NocoDB Account: Access to a NocoDB instance with a table containing your contact information.
  • Brevo (Sendinblue) Account: An active Brevo account with API access.
  • NocoDB Credentials: Configured NocoDB credentials in n8n.
  • Brevo Credentials: Configured Brevo (Sendinblue) credentials in n8n.

Setup/Usage

  1. Import the Workflow: Download the provided JSON and import it into your n8n instance.
  2. Configure Credentials:
    • NocoDB Node (ID: 510): Select or create your NocoDB API credentials. Specify the NocoDB base URL, API token, and the table you want to fetch contacts from.
    • Brevo Node (ID: 820): Select or create your Brevo API credentials.
  3. Configure Schedule Trigger (ID: 839): Adjust the "Schedule Trigger" node to your desired interval for checking new contacts (e.g., every day, every hour).
  4. Configure Remove Duplicates (ID: 1238): Ensure the "Remove Duplicates" node is configured to deduplicate based on the correct field (e.g., email).
  5. Configure Filter (ID: 844): The "Filter" node is crucial for identifying new contacts. Ensure it correctly compares NocoDB contacts against existing Brevo contacts.
  6. Configure Edit Fields (ID: 38): Adjust the "Edit Fields (Set)" node to map your NocoDB fields to the corresponding Brevo contact attributes (e.g., email, firstName, lastName).
  7. Activate the Workflow: Once configured, activate the workflow in n8n.

The workflow will now automatically fetch new contacts from NocoDB, deduplicate them, check if they exist in Brevo, and add only the truly new contacts to your Brevo account, streamlining your email marketing list management.
