What it does
This workflow performs the following actions:
- Listens for New Shopify Orders: It acts as a webhook listener, waiting for new order events from your Shopify store.
- Extracts Order Details: Upon receiving a new order, it extracts key information such as the order ID, customer details, total price, and items purchased.
- Formats Data for Google Sheets: It processes the extracted data into a structured format suitable for a Google Sheet row.
- Appends to Google Sheet: It adds the formatted order details as a new row in a specified Google Sheet.
- Sends Discord Notification: It constructs a message with essential order information and posts it to a designated Discord channel.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Account: An active n8n instance (cloud or self-hosted).
- Shopify Account: A Shopify store with webhook access.
- Google Account: Access to Google Sheets to create and manage your order tracking spreadsheet.
- Discord Account: A Discord server and channel where notifications will be sent, along with a webhook URL for that channel.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file for this workflow.
- In your n8n instance, click "New" in the workflows section.
- Click the "Import from JSON" button and paste the workflow JSON or upload the file.
- Configure Credentials:
- Shopify Trigger:
- Click on the "Shopify Trigger" node.
- Add or select your Shopify API credentials. You'll need your Shopify store URL and an API key/password or access token.
- After configuring, n8n will provide a Webhook URL. Copy this URL.
- In your Shopify admin, go to
Settings > Notifications > Webhooks. - Click "Create webhook" and select "Order creation" as the event.
- Paste the n8n Webhook URL into the URL field.
- Set the format to JSON and save the webhook.
- Google Sheets Node:
- Click on the "Google Sheets" node.
- Add or select your Google Sheets API credentials (OAuth2 is recommended).
- Specify the "Spreadsheet ID" and "Sheet Name" where you want to log the orders. Ensure the sheet has appropriate headers (e.g., Order ID, Customer Name, Total Price, Items).
- Discord Node:
- Click on the "Discord" node.
- Add or select your Discord API credentials. This typically involves providing a Webhook URL from your Discord channel.
- To get a Discord Webhook URL: In Discord, go to your server settings, then "Integrations," then "Webhooks." Create a new webhook for the desired channel and copy its URL.
