This n8n workflow provides a comprehensive solution for analyzing the SEO of a blog post using AI (specifically GPT-4) and ethically scraping its content. It's designed to automate the process of extracting blog content and then generating an SEO assessment.
What it does
This workflow automates the following steps:
- Receives a Blog Post URL: It starts by listening for a webhook trigger, expecting a blog post URL as input.
- Extracts Blog Content: It makes an HTTP request to the provided URL to scrape the content of the blog post.
- Checks for Successful Scraping: It uses an If node to verify if the HTTP request was successful (i.e., the content was retrieved).
- Prepares Content for AI Analysis:
- If the scraping is successful, it processes the raw HTML content, extracting the main text and cleaning it up for AI consumption.
- It then sets specific fields (like
blogContentandblogURL) to be passed to the next steps.
- Generates SEO Assessment with OpenAI (GPT-4): It sends the cleaned blog content to the OpenAI GPT-4 model with a predefined prompt to generate a detailed SEO assessment.
- Formats AI Response: The AI-generated assessment is then formatted into Markdown for better readability.
- Responds to Webhook: Finally, it responds to the initial webhook with the Markdown-formatted SEO assessment.
- Handles Failed Scraping: If the initial HTTP request to scrape the blog post fails, it directly responds to the webhook with an error message.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
- OpenAI API Key: An API key for OpenAI with access to GPT-4. This credential will need to be configured within the OpenAI node.
Setup/Usage
- Import the workflow: Download the provided JSON and import it into your n8n instance.
- Configure Credentials:

- Click on the "Credentials" field and select your existing OpenAI API credential or create a new one. Ensure it has access to the GPT-4 model.
