This n8n workflow transforms your Telegram chat into a powerful shopping assistant. By leveraging Apify for Amazon product searches and OpenRouter AI for intelligent responses, it allows users to find products directly from their Telegram app.

What it does

This workflow automates the following steps:

  1. Listens for Telegram Messages: It acts as a Telegram bot, waiting for incoming messages from users.
  2. Analyzes Message Content: When a message is received, it extracts the user's query.
  3. Routes to AI Agent: The user's query is then passed to an AI Agent (powered by LangChain and OpenRouter Chat Model).
  4. Performs Amazon Product Search (via Apify): The AI Agent, based on the user's request, intelligently uses an HTTP Request node to query the Apify Amazon product scraper.
  5. Processes Search Results: It receives the product data from Apify.
  6. Generates AI Response: The AI Agent processes the product information and generates a user-friendly response, potentially summarizing product details or suggesting relevant items.
  7. Sends Telegram Reply: The AI-generated response, including product details, is sent back to the user via Telegram.

Prerequisites/Requirements

To use this workflow, you will need:

  • n8n Instance: A running n8n instance (self-hosted or cloud).
  • Telegram Bot Token: A Telegram Bot Token from BotFather to set up the Telegram Trigger and Telegram nodes.
  • Apify Account & API Key: An Apify account with access to an Amazon product scraper (e.g., apify/amazon-products-scraper) and an API key.
  • OpenRouter AI API Key: An OpenRouter AI API Key for the AI Agent's chat model.

Setup/Usage

  1. Import the Workflow:

    • Download the provided JSON file.
    • In your n8n instance, click "Workflows" in the left sidebar.
    • Click "New" and then "Import from JSON".
    • Paste the JSON content or upload the file.
  2. Configure Credentials:

    • Telegram:
      • Click on the "Telegram Trigger" node and the "Telegram" node.
      • Add a new Telegram API credential using your Telegram Bot Token.
    • Apify:
      • The "HTTP Request" node will likely require an Apify API key to be passed in the URL or headers. Ensure your Apify API key is securely configured, perhaps using an environment variable or a dedicated n8n credential if available for HTTP requests. The current JSON does not explicitly show a credential for HTTP Request, so you might need to manually add it to the URL or headers.
    • OpenRouter AI:
      • Click on the "OpenRouter Chat Model" node.
      • Add a new OpenRouter AI credential using your OpenRouter AI API Key.
  3. Activate the Workflow:

    • Once all credentials are set up, click the "Activate" toggle in the top right corner of the workflow editor to enable it.
  4. Interact with the Bot:

    • Open your Telegram app and send a message to your configured bot.
