This workflow creates a Telegram bot that fetches the top 5 rated restaurants for any specified area in Egypt using SerpAPI's Google Maps search. It's designed to provide quick, detailed, and richly formatted information directly in your chat.

Key Features

  • Simple Command Trigger: Activate the search with a straightforward command (e.g., التحرير)
  • Real-Time Restaurant Data: Utilizes SerpAPI to pull live data, ratings, and details from Google Maps
  • Top 5 Ranking: Automatically sorts restaurants by their rating in descending order and presents the top five
  • Richly Formatted Replies: Generates a clean, user-friendly Markdown message with essential details:
    • Rating ⭐
    • Phone Number ☎️
    • Website 🌐
    • Service Options (Dine-in ✅ | Takeaway ❌)
    • A direct link to the location on a map 📍
  • Arabic Language Focused: The workflow is initially configured to process requests and format replies in Arabic

How It Works

  1. A user sends a place name like التحرير to the Telegram bot
  2. The Parse Area node extracts the location name from the message text
  3. The Geocode (Nominatim) node finds the geographic coordinates for the area (this can be adapted for more precise location searches)
  4. The Find Restaurants (SerpAPI) node uses this area to perform a Google Maps search
  5. The Format Reply node processes the search results. It sorts them by rating, takes the top 5, and builds a detailed Markdown-formatted string
  6. The Send to Telegram node delivers the final formatted message back to the user who made the request

Setup

  • Telegram: Configure your credentials in the Telegram Trigger and Send to Telegram nodes
  • SerpAPI: Add your free or paid API key in the Find Restaurants (SerpAPI) HTTP Request node

Telegram Bot for Finding Top-Rated Restaurants with Google Maps via SerpAPI

This n8n workflow creates a Telegram bot that allows users to search for top-rated restaurants in a specified location. It leverages SerpAPI to perform Google Maps searches and then sends the results back to the user via Telegram.

What it does

This workflow automates the following steps:

  1. Listens for Telegram messages: The workflow is triggered whenever a new message is received by the configured Telegram bot.
  2. Processes incoming message: It extracts the user's chat ID and the text of their message.
  3. Constructs SerpAPI request: The user's message is used to form a search query for "top-rated restaurants" in the specified location, which is then sent to SerpAPI's Google Maps API.
  4. Sends results to Telegram: The search results (e.g., restaurant names, ratings, addresses, and Google Maps links) are formatted and sent back to the user in the Telegram chat.

Prerequisites/Requirements

To use this workflow, you will need:

  • n8n instance: A running n8n instance (cloud or self-hosted).
  • Telegram Bot Token: A Telegram bot created via BotFather. You will need its API token.
  • SerpAPI API Key: An account with SerpAPI to access their Google Maps API.

Setup/Usage

  1. Import the workflow:

    • Copy the provided JSON code.
    • In your n8n instance, click on "Workflows" in the left sidebar.
    • Click "New" and then "Import from JSON".
    • Paste the JSON code and click "Import".
  2. Configure Credentials:

    • Telegram Trigger (Node 50):
      • Click on the "Telegram Trigger" node.
      • Under "Telegram API", click "Create New" or select an existing Telegram API credential.
      • Enter your Telegram Bot Token.
    • HTTP Request (Node 19):
      • This node makes a request to SerpAPI. You will need to add your SerpAPI API key as a query parameter or header depending on how you configure the request. The current JSON does not explicitly show a credential for SerpAPI, so you will likely need to embed your API key directly in the URL or add a query parameter.
      • Modify the URL to include your SerpAPI API key (e.g., https://serpapi.com/search?engine=google_maps&q=top-rated+restaurants+in+{{$json.query}}&api_key=YOUR_SERPAPI_API_KEY).
    • Telegram (Node 49):
      • Click on the "Telegram" node.
      • Under "Telegram API", select the same Telegram API credential you configured for the trigger.
  3. Activate the workflow:

    • Once all credentials are set up, click the "Activate" toggle in the top right corner of the workflow editor to enable it.
  4. Use the bot:

    • Open Telegram and start a chat with your bot.
    • Send a message with the location you want to search for, e.g., "London", "New York City", "Paris".
    • The bot will respond with a list of top-rated restaurants from Google Maps.

🎓 How to transform unstructured email data into structured format with AI agent

This workflow automates the process of extracting structured, usable information from unstructured email messages across multiple platforms. It connects directly to Gmail, Outlook, and IMAP accounts, retrieves incoming emails, and sends their content to an AI-powered parsing agent built on OpenAI GPT models. The AI agent analyzes each email, identifies relevant details, and returns a clean JSON structure containing key fields: From – sender’s email address To – recipient’s email address Subject – email subject line Summary – short AI-generated summary of the email body The extracted information is then automatically inserted into an n8n Data Table, creating a structured database of email metadata and summaries ready for indexing, reporting, or integration with other tools. --- Key Benefits ✅ Full Automation: Eliminates manual reading and data entry from incoming emails. ✅ Multi-Source Integration: Handles data from different email providers seamlessly. ✅ AI-Driven Accuracy: Uses advanced language models to interpret complex or unformatted content. ✅ Structured Storage: Creates a standardized, query-ready dataset from previously unstructured text. ✅ Time Efficiency: Processes emails in real time, improving productivity and response speed. *✅ Scalability: Easily extendable to handle additional sources or extract more data fields. --- How it works This workflow automates the transformation of unstructured email data into a structured, queryable format. It operates through a series of connected steps: Email Triggering: The workflow is initiated by one of three different email triggers (Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, or a generic IMAP account), which constantly monitor for new incoming emails. AI-Powered Parsing & Structuring: When a new email is detected, its raw, unstructured content is passed to a central "Parsing Agent." This agent uses a specified OpenAI language model to intelligently analyze the email text. Data Extraction & Standardization: Following a predefined system prompt, the AI agent extracts key information from the email, such as the sender, recipient, subject, and a generated summary. It then forces the output into a strict JSON structure using a "Structured Output Parser" node, ensuring data consistency. Data Storage: Finally, the clean, structured data (the from, to, subject, and summarize fields) is inserted as a new row into a specified n8n Data Table, creating a searchable and reportable database of email information. --- Set up steps To implement this workflow, follow these configuration steps: Prepare the Data Table: Create a new Data Table within n8n. Define the columns with the following names and string type: From, To, Subject, and Summary. Configure Email Credentials: Set up the credential connections for the email services you wish to use (Gmail OAuth2, Microsoft Outlook OAuth2, and/or IMAP). Ensure the accounts have the necessary permissions to read emails. Configure AI Model Credentials: Set up the OpenAI API credential with a valid API key. The workflow is configured to use the model, but this can be changed in the respective nodes if needed. Connect the Nodes: The workflow canvas is already correctly wired. Visually confirm that the email triggers are connected to the "Parsing Agent," which is connected to the "Insert row" (Data Table) node. Also, ensure the "OpenAI Chat Model" and "Structured Output Parser" are connected to the "Parsing Agent" as its AI model and output parser, respectively. Activate the Workflow: Save the workflow and toggle the "Active" switch to ON. The triggers will begin polling for new emails according to their schedule (e.g., every minute), and the automation will start processing incoming messages. --- Need help customizing?
