What it does
This workflow simplifies customer support or information dissemination by automatically responding to specific queries received via WhatsApp.
- Listens for Incoming WhatsApp Messages: The workflow is triggered whenever a new message is received on your configured WhatsApp Business Cloud account.
- Extracts Message Content: It captures the text content of the incoming message.
- Routes Based on Keywords:
- It checks if the message contains specific keywords (e.g., "hello", "hi", "hey", "help", "support", "contact").
- If a keyword is detected, it directs the message to a specific response path.
- Sends Predefined Replies:
- For messages containing "hello", "hi", or "hey", it sends a "Hello, how can I help you?" reply.
- For messages containing "help", "support", or "contact", it sends a "Please visit our support page: [link]" reply.
- Handles Unmatched Messages: If no specific keywords are detected, it sends a generic "I'm sorry, I didn't understand your request." message.
Prerequisites/Requirements
- n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
- WhatsApp Business Cloud Account: An activated WhatsApp Business Cloud account with an associated phone number.
- WhatsApp Business Cloud Credentials: Configured n8n credentials for your WhatsApp Business Cloud account.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file.
- In your n8n instance, click "New" in the workflows list, then "Import from JSON" and upload the file.
- Configure WhatsApp Credentials:
- Locate the "WhatsApp Trigger" and "WhatsApp Business Cloud" nodes.
- Click on each and configure your WhatsApp Business Cloud credentials. If you haven't set them up yet, n8n will guide you through the process.
- Customize Keywords and Responses:
- "If" Node (ID: 20): This node checks for "hello", "hi", or "hey". You can modify the conditions to include or exclude keywords, or add more conditions for different greetings.
- "Switch" Node (ID: 112): This node checks for "help", "support", or "contact". You can modify the conditions to include or exclude keywords, or add more cases for different support-related queries.
- "Edit Fields" Nodes (ID: 38 and others): These nodes prepare the response message. Modify the
messagefield in the "Set" nodes connected to the "WhatsApp Business Cloud" nodes to change the automated replies.
- Activate the Workflow: Once configured, activate the workflow by toggling the "Active" switch in the top right corner of the n8n editor.
Now, your WhatsApp bot will automatically respond to messages based on the keywords you've defined!
