Create Single New Masked Email Address with Fastmail

What it does

1. Listens for a Webhook: The workflow is triggered by an incoming HTTP POST request to its webhook URL.
2. Creates a Masked Email: It makes an HTTP POST request to the Fastmail API to create a new masked email address.
3. Responds to Webhook: It responds to the initial webhook request, likely returning the details of the newly created masked email address.

Prerequisites/Requirements

• Fastmail Account: You need an active Fastmail account.
• Fastmail API Token: An API token from Fastmail with the necessary permissions to create masked email addresses. This will be used in the HTTP Request node for authentication.

Setup/Usage

1. Import the workflow: Import the provided JSON into your n8n instance.
2. Configure the Webhook:
   • The "Webhook" node is already set up to listen for POST requests.
   • Copy the "Webhook URL" from this node. This is the endpoint you will call to trigger the workflow.
3. Configure the HTTP Request Node:
   • Open the "HTTP Request" node.
   • Set the URL to the Fastmail API endpoint for creating masked emails (e.g., https://api.fastmail.com/jmap/).
   • Configure the Method to POST.
   • In the Headers section, add an Authorization header with your Fastmail API token (e.g., Bearer YOUR_FASTMAIL_API_TOKEN).
   • In the Body section, you will need to define the JSON payload required by the Fastmail API to create a masked email. This typically includes fields like name or description.
4. Test the workflow:
   • Execute the workflow manually in n8n to ensure all steps are configured correctly.
   • Send a POST request to the Webhook URL you copied in step 2. You can use tools like Postman, curl, or another n8n workflow. The response from the webhook should contain the details of the newly created masked email.
