Qualify new leads in Google Sheets via OpenAI's GPT-4
This n8n workflow was developed to evaluate and categorize incoming leads based on certain criteria. The workflow is triggered by adding a new row in a Google Sheets document.
The workflow uses the OpenAI node to process the lead information. The system query contains detailed qualification rules and the response format. The user message contains the data for the individual lead.
The JSON response from the OpenAI node is then processed by the Edit Fields node to extract the response. This response is merged together with the original lead data by the Merge node.
Finally, the Google Sheets node updates the original lead entry in the Google Sheets document with the qualification result ("qualified" or "not qualified") in a separate column. This allows for easy tracking and sorting of the qualified leads.

Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Account: A running instance of n8n.

Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow:

- Configure Credentials:
- Click on the "Google Sheets Trigger" node and select your pre-configured Google Sheets credential or create a new one. Ensure it has access to the spreadsheet you intend to use.
- Click on the "OpenAI" node and select your pre-configured OpenAI credential or create a new one using your OpenAI API Key.
- Click on the "Google Sheets" node and select your pre-configured Google Sheets credential.
- Specify Google Sheet Details:
- In the "Google Sheets Trigger" node, configure the "Spreadsheet ID" and "Sheet Name" to point to your lead sheet.
- In the "Google Sheets" node, configure the "Spreadsheet ID" and "Sheet Name" to match your lead sheet. Also, specify the column where the AI qualification result should be written (e.g., "Qualification Status").
- Customize OpenAI Prompt (Optional):
- In the "OpenAI" node, review and adjust the prompt to guide GPT-4 on how to qualify your leads based on your specific criteria.
- Activate the Workflow:
- Once all credentials and sheet details are configured, save the workflow and activate it by toggling the "Active" switch in the top right corner.
Now, every time a new row is added to your specified Google Sheet, the workflow will trigger, send the lead data to OpenAI for qualification, and update the sheet with the results.
