Use case
When collecting leads via a form you're typically facing a few problems:
- Often end up with a bunch of leads who don't have a valid email address
- You want to know as much about the new lead as possible but also want to keep the form short
- After forms are submitted you have to walk over the submissions and see which you want to add to your CRM
This workflow helps you to fix all those problems.
What this workflow does
The workflow checks every new form submission and verifies the email using Hunter.io. If the email is valid, it then tries to enrich the person using Clearbit and saves the new lead into your Hubspot CRM.
Setup
- Add you Hunter, Clearbit and Hubspot credentials
- Click the Test Workflow button, enter your email and check your Hubspot
- Activate the workflow and use the form trigger production URL to collect your leads in a smart way
How to adjust it to your needs
- Change the form to the form you need in your use case (e.g. Typeform, Google Forms, SurveyMonkey etc.)

What it does
This workflow streamlines your lead capture process by:
- Listening for New Form Submissions: It triggers whenever a new form is submitted via the n8n Form Trigger.
- Verifying Email Addresses: It uses Hunter.io to verify the email address provided in the form submission.
- Enriching Lead Data: If the email is valid, it uses Clearbit to enrich the lead's data with additional company and personal information.
- Conditional Routing: It checks if the email verification was successful and if enrichment data was found.
- Successful Path: If the email is valid and enrichment data is available, it creates or updates a contact in HubSpot with the enriched information.
- Fallback Path: If the email verification fails or no enrichment data is found, it proceeds to a "No Operation" node, allowing for further custom handling (e.g., logging, sending a notification, or creating a basic HubSpot contact without enrichment).
- Saving to HubSpot: It creates or updates a contact in HubSpot based on the verified and enriched data.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
- n8n Form Trigger: The n8n Form Trigger node configured to receive your form submissions.
- Hunter.io Account: An API key for Hunter.io to verify email addresses.
- Clearbit Account: An API key for Clearbit to enrich lead data.
- HubSpot Account: Credentials for your HubSpot account to create/update contacts.
Setup/Usage
- Import the workflow: Download the provided JSON and import it into your n8n instance.
- Configure Credentials:
- Set up your Hunter.io API Key credential.
- Set up your Clearbit API Key credential.
- Set up your HubSpot API Key or OAuth2 credential.
- Configure the n8n Form Trigger:
- Ensure your external form is configured to send data to the n8n Form Trigger webhook URL.
- Map the incoming form fields (especially the email address) to be used by subsequent nodes.
- Activate the workflow: Once configured, activate the workflow to start processing form submissions.
- Customize (Optional):
- Adjust the conditions in the "If" node to fit your specific lead qualification criteria.
- Modify the "No Operation, do nothing" node to implement custom logic for invalid or un-enrichable leads (e.g., send a Slack notification, add to a "review" list in a Google Sheet).
- Map additional fields from your form submission to HubSpot properties in the "HubSpot" node.
