Get email notifications for newly uploaded Google Drive files
This workflow sends out email notifications when a new file has been uploaded to Google Drive.

The workflow uses two nodes:
- Google Drive Trigger: This node will trigger the workflow whenever a new file has been uploaded to a given folder
- Send Email: This node sends out the email using data from the previous Google Drive Trigger node.
Google Drive New File Email Notifier
This n8n workflow automates the process of sending email notifications whenever a new file is uploaded to your Google Drive. It helps you stay informed about new content without manually checking your Drive.
What it does
This workflow simplifies keeping track of new Google Drive uploads by:
- Monitoring Google Drive: It continuously listens for new files or folders created in your Google Drive.
- Triggering on New Upload: When a new file is detected, the workflow is activated.
- Sending Email Notification: An email is sent to a specified recipient, notifying them about the newly uploaded file.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
- Google Drive Account: A Google account with Google Drive enabled.
- Google Drive Credentials in n8n: You will need to set up Google Drive OAuth2 credentials in your n8n instance to allow the workflow to access your Google Drive.
- SMTP Email Account: An email account configured as an SMTP credential in n8n to send the notification emails.
Setup/Usage

Import the Workflow:
- Download the provided JSON file.
- In your n8n instance, go to "Workflows" and click "New".
- Click the three dots in the top right corner and select "Import from JSON".
- Paste the workflow JSON or upload the file.

Configure Google Drive Trigger:
- Click on the "Google Drive Trigger" node.
- Select your Google Drive credential. If you don't have one, click "Create New" and follow the instructions to set up OAuth2 credentials for Google Drive.
- (Optional) Configure the "Watch For" setting if you want to monitor specific file types or folders. By default, it watches for new files and folders.

Configure Send Email Node:
- Click on the "Send Email" node.
- Select your SMTP email credential. If you don't have one, click "Create New" and configure your SMTP server details (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, custom SMTP).
- To: Enter the email address(es) where you want to receive notifications.
- Subject: Customize the email subject. You can use expressions like
New file uploaded: {{ $json.name }}to include details from the Google Drive trigger. - Body: Customize the email body. You can access details about the uploaded file using expressions, for example:

Activate the Workflow:
- Once configured, save the workflow.
- Toggle the "Active" switch in the top right corner to enable the workflow.
Now, whenever a new file is uploaded to your Google Drive, you will receive an email notification with the details of the uploaded file.
