Create AI videos from prompts with OpenAI script, TTS & Pexels B-roll assembly
Automatically creates complete videos from a text prompt—script, voiceover, stock footage, and subtitles all assembled and ready.
How it works
Send a video topic via webhook (e.g., "Create a 60-second video about morning exercise"). The workflow uses OpenAI to generate a structured script with scenes, converts text to natural-sounding speech, searches Pexels for matching B-roll footage, and downloads everything. Finally, it merges audio with video, generates SRT subtitles, and prepares all components for final assembly.
The workflow handles parallel processing—while generating voiceover, it simultaneously searches and downloads stock footage to save time.
Setup steps
- Add OpenAI credentials for script generation and text-to-speech
- Get a free Pexels API key from pexels.com/api for stock footage access
- Connect Google Drive for storing the final video output
- Install FFmpeg (optional) for automated video assembly, or manually combine the components
- Test the webhook by sending a POST request with your video topic
Input format:
{
"prompt": "Your video topic here",
"duration": 60,
"style": "motivational"
}
What you get
- ✅ AI-generated script broken into scenes
- ✅ Professional voiceover audio (MP3)
- ✅ Downloaded stock footage clips (MP4)
- ✅ Timed subtitles file (SRT)
- ✅ All components ready for final editing
Note: The final video assembly requires FFmpeg or a video editor. All components are prepared and organized by scene number for easy manual editing if needed.
Create AI Videos from Prompts with OpenAI, Script, TTS, and Pexels B-Roll Assembly
This n8n workflow automates the creation of short AI-generated videos. It takes a text prompt, uses OpenAI to generate a video script, converts the script to speech, and then assembles the video using Pexels stock footage.
What it does
This workflow streamlines the video creation process through the following steps:
- Receives a Prompt: It starts by listening for an incoming webhook request containing a text prompt for the video.
- Generates Video Script: Uses the OpenAI node to generate a video script based on the provided prompt.
- Generates Audio from Script: Converts the generated script into an audio file using a Text-to-Speech (TTS) service (likely via a custom script executed by the
Execute Commandnode). - Searches for B-Roll Footage: Queries Pexels for relevant stock video footage based on keywords extracted from the script or prompt.
- Downloads Pexels Footage: Downloads the selected B-roll video clips from Pexels.
- Assembles Video: Combines the generated audio and downloaded video clips into a final video file (likely using a custom script executed by the
Execute Commandnode). - Uploads to Google Drive: Stores the final video file in a specified Google Drive folder.
- Responds to Webhook: Provides a response back to the initial webhook, potentially including a link to the generated video.
Prerequisites/Requirements
To use this workflow, you will need:
- n8n Instance: A running n8n instance.
- OpenAI API Key: For generating the video script.
- Pexels API Key: For searching and downloading stock video footage.
- Google Drive Account: For storing the generated videos.
- Google Drive Credentials: Configured in n8n for Google Drive access.
- Text-to-Speech (TTS) Service: This workflow appears to use a custom script via the
Execute Commandnode for TTS. You will need to ensure the underlying system has the necessary TTS tools installed and configured (e.g.,ffmpeg, a specific TTS engine, etc.). - Video Editing/Assembly Tool: Similar to TTS, the video assembly is handled by a custom script via
Execute Command. This implies the n8n host system needs video editing tools (e.g.,ffmpeg) installed and configured to combine audio and video.
Setup/Usage
- Import the Workflow: Download the JSON provided and import it into your n8n instance.
- Configure Credentials:
- Set up your OpenAI API Key credential in n8n.
- Set up your Google Drive OAuth2 credential in n8n.
- The Pexels API key and any custom script parameters will likely need to be configured within the respective
HTTP RequestandExecute Commandnodes, or as environment variables if your scripts are designed to read them.
- Configure Webhook:
- Activate the
Webhooknode and copy its URL. This URL will be used to trigger the workflow.
- Activate the
- Customize
Execute CommandNodes:- Review the
Execute Commandnodes. These are critical for TTS and video assembly. You will need to ensure the commands are correct for your system's setup and that all necessary tools (likeffmpegand your chosen TTS engine) are installed and accessible on the machine hosting n8n. - Adjust any paths or parameters within these commands to match your environment.
- Review the
- Test the Workflow:
- Send a POST request to the Webhook URL with a JSON body containing your video prompt, for example:
{ "prompt": "A short video about the benefits of remote work, showing people collaborating happily from different locations." } - Monitor the execution in n8n to ensure all steps complete successfully.
- Check your configured Google Drive folder for the generated video.
- Send a POST request to the Webhook URL with a JSON body containing your video prompt, for example:

Automated YouTube publishing from Drive with GPT & Gemini metadata generation
How it works This workflow turns a Google Drive folder into a fully automated YouTube publishing pipeline. Whenever a new video file is added to the folder, the workflow generates all YouTube metadata using AI, uploads the video to your YouTube channel, deletes the original file from Drive, sends a Telegram confirmation, and can optionally post to Instagram and Facebook using permanent system tokens. High-level flow: Detects new video uploads in a specific Google Drive folder. Downloads the file and uses AI to generate: • a polished first-person YouTube description • an SEO-optimized YouTube title • high-ranking YouTube tags Uploads the video to YouTube with the generated metadata. Deletes the original Drive file after upload. Sends a Telegram notification with video details. (Optional) Posts to Instagram & Facebook using permanent system user tokens. Set up steps Setup usually takes a few minutes. Add Google Drive OAuth2 credentials for the trigger and download/delete nodes. Add your OpenAI (or Gemini) API credentials for title/description/tag generation. Add YouTube OAuth2 credentials in the YouTube Upload node. Add Facebook/Instagram Graph API credentials if enabling cross-posting. Replace placeholder IDs (Drive folder ID, Page ID, IG media endpoint). Review sticky notes in the workflow—they contain setup guidance and token info. Activate the Google Drive trigger to start automated uploads.
