Bubble node: This node will create a new object of the type Doc in Bubble. If you want to create an object with a different type, use that type instead.

Bubble1 node: This node will update the object that we created using the previous node.

Bubble2 node: This node will retrieve the information of the object that we created earlier.

Bubble Object Operations Workflow

This n8n workflow demonstrates how to interact with Bubble, specifically focusing on creating, updating, and retrieving objects. It provides a foundational example for integrating your n8n workflows with Bubble applications.

What it does

This workflow contains a single Bubble node, pre-configured to showcase its capabilities. While the current JSON only includes the node, in a full implementation, it would typically:

  1. Trigger: Start based on an event (e.g., a webhook, a schedule, or another application's data).
  2. Perform Bubble Operation: Utilize the Bubble node to:
    • Create a new object: Add new data entries to your Bubble database.
    • Update an existing object: Modify specific fields of an existing data entry in Bubble.
    • Get an object: Retrieve data from your Bubble database based on specific criteria.
    • Delete an object: Remove data entries from your Bubble database.
    • Search for objects: Query your Bubble database for multiple matching entries.

The included Bubble node is a powerful tool for managing data within your Bubble application directly from n8n.

Prerequisites/Requirements

  • n8n Instance: A running instance of n8n.
  • Bubble Account: An active Bubble application where you want to perform operations.
  • Bubble API Key: You will need to configure Bubble credentials in n8n, which typically requires a Private Key and potentially an App Name or other authentication details from your Bubble application's API settings.

Setup/Usage

  1. Import the Workflow:
    • Copy the provided JSON code.
    • In your n8n instance, go to "Workflows" and click "New".
    • Click the "Import from JSON" button (usually a cloud icon with an arrow pointing down) and paste the JSON.
  2. Configure Bubble Credentials:
    • Click on the "Bubble" node.
    • In the node settings, locate the "Credentials" field.
    • Click "Create New" or select an existing Bubble credential.
    • Enter your Bubble Private Key and any other required authentication details (e.g., App Name, Environment) from your Bubble application's API settings.
  3. Configure the Bubble Node (Action):
    • Within the Bubble node, select the desired "Operation" (e.g., "Create", "Update", "Get", "Delete", "Search").
    • Specify the "Resource" (the data type in your Bubble application, e.g., "User", "Product", "Order").
    • Provide the necessary parameters for your chosen operation (e.g., fields for creation, unique ID for update/get/delete, constraints for search).
  4. Add a Trigger: To make the workflow functional, add a trigger node (e.g., a "Webhook" node to receive external requests, a "Cron" node for scheduled runs, or another application's trigger node).
  5. Test and Activate:
    • Save the workflow.
    • Use the "Test Workflow" button to ensure it runs correctly.
    • Once satisfied, activate the workflow by toggling the "Active" switch in the top right corner.
